Do I need to create an account?

You don't need an account to shop with us. You may proceed as a guest. 


When you create an account you'll be able to place orders without having to fill out your details every time, for instance. 

If you need an invoice with your VAT number and company details, you'll need to create an account. You can't create a VAT invoice as a guest.

Just simply create an account by hitting the "create account" button.

I forgot my password. Can I get a new one?

No worries, we've got you covered. Simply select the "forgotton your password" link and we'll send you instructions on how to create a new password.

Do I receive a confirmation of my order?

Once you've placed your order we'll send out a confirmation e-mail. Don't forget to check your junk mail too! Still haven't found your confirmation e-mail? Please contact us via shop@baru.be and we'll help you out!

Can I change my order?

You can change your order as much as you like while it's in your shopping cart.

Once your order has been paid, you won't be able to make any changes. Did you make a mistake or did you gave us the wrong delivery address? Please contact us via shop@baru.be and we'll do our best to help you out!

Can I cancel my order?

Once your order has been paid, we're not able to cancel it.

Can I have an invoice?

Yes, everyone that places an order will receive an invoice by email upon shipment of the goods.

You can fill in the invoice details and shipping details during the order process. You are responsable for the accurancy of the address and VAT details.

Please note you can only create an invoice with VAT details when you have an  account.

Altering an invoice or invoice details after placing the order and payment, is NOT possible.

How do I use my coupon or promotional code?

You can enter your code during check-out in the "validate coupon code" field. Just type in your code and hit the "enter" button and we'll add the discount in the cart!

Delivery & Shipping

When will you ship my order?

We do our best to process and ship your order as soon as possible. Once your order leaves our warehouse, you'll receive a tracking link to follow your treats. Most orders will be shipped out on the same day as you've placed your order.

Do you ship internationally?

Yes, we do! We ship all over Europe to the following countries : 

Austria, Belgium, Bulgary, Cyprus, Croatia, Czech Republic,  Denmark, Estonia, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Ireland, Italy, Latvia, Lithuania, Luxemburg, Malta, the Netherlands, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Spain, Sweden, Slovenia and Slovakia.

We temporarily can't ship to the UK.

 

Do you ship when it's (very) warm outside?

During Spring and Summer time, we will add a icepack to your order to keep your treats cool.

When it's (too) hot outside, e.g. +25°C, we will not ship your treats as they will probably melt during transport (yes, even with a coolpack).

We'll keep your order with us until temperatures are a little cooler or if it's less sunny.

So when you place an order in Spring or Summer, please take into account your order may take a little longer than usual if we think it's necessary.

When do I receive my order?

Belgium and the Netherlands

Delivery should the next day. However, sometimes your parcel may be delayed, for instance during the holidays.

International shipments 

Delivery may take 1 - 4 days, depending on the destination.

Please check the tracking link we've sent you to follow your order and to see the expected delivery date.

Also, please note delivery may take a little longer during busy times such as the holildays.

All delivery depend on a lot of external factors (transport, weather, traffic, customs, int. regulations, etc.) which we cannot control. We will always try to get your goodies ASAP to you !

How do I track my order?

Once your order leaves our warehouse, you'll receive a tracking link to follow your treats. You can track your order on our website or on the courier's website.

I still haven't received my order! What do I do?

Don't panic! Sometimes it takes a little longer for your order to arrive, especially during busy times such as the holidays.

You can contact your courier directly to find out more using your tracking code or you can contact us and we'll help you find out more.

Where are BARÚ products being produced?

Our marshmallows, marshmallow bars and Dreamy Chocolate Hippos are produced in Belgium. 

Our hot drinks are produced in the Netherlands.

Where are Mallow Puffs products being produced?

Mallow Puffs are produced in Belgium.

Do you use recycable packaging?

Our marshmallows and Dreamy Chocolate Hippos are packed in FSC certified (cardboard) packaging and is fully recycable.

Our hot chocolates and chai latte are packed in recycable tins with recycable lids; our plastic gift jars are also recycable.

At this moment the marshmallows, Dreamy Chocolate Hippos, marshmallow bars and our Mallow Puffs are wrapped in non recycable foil. We are doing our very best to find a recycable alternative which also garantuees the quality and freshness of our products. So far we haven't found an alternative yet however we keep looking! We aim to to use recycable packacking only as soon as possible.

Can I send a gift?

Yes, of course! Everyone likes chocolate gifts :) Just write down the address in the "delivery field" of the person to whom you'd like to send a gift to.

Ingredients and allergens

Do you have vegetarion or vegan products?

Yes, we do! All our Dreamy Chocolate Hippos, hot chocolates and chai latte are suitable for vegetarians.

Our Swirly Hot Chocolate Powder, Fluffy Marshmallow Chocolate Powder and Dark Hot Chocolate Powder are suitable for vegans.

Mallow Puffs mallows and mallow bars are vegan and V-label certified.

Are your products palm oil free?

Yes, both BARÚ and Mallow Puffs are palm oil free.

Marshmallow and Chocolate

How do I store marshmallows and chocolate?

In a cool, dry place. The ideal temperature is between 12°C and 20°C. Warmer temperatures will cause the chocolate to melt. In addition,  warm temperatures may change the taste and texture.

Why are your marshmallows and chocolates wrapped individually?

Our marshmallows and Dreamy Chocolate hippos are packaged separately to make sure they stay fresh and do not become dry.

Are BARÚ marshmallows and marshmallow bars vegetarian or vegan?

BARÚ marshmallows and marshmallow bars are made with gelatine from animal origin.

Are Mallow Puffs mallows and mallow bars vegetarian or vegan?

Yes, Mallow Puffs mallows and mallow bars are both vegetarian and vegan and V-label certified.

Help! Why did my marshmallow/chocolate turn white?

Oops! The chocolate was probably stored in a place that was either too warm or too moist!

When chocolate is stored in warm conditions, a ‘fat bloom’ develops in which the cocoa butter crystallises and creates a white layer.

Moisture, on the other hand, causes a ‘sugar bloom’, in which sugar precipitates to the surface. You can still eat the chocolate, but it will not be as tasty as before.

Hot Drinks

How do I store my hot drinks?

In a cool, dry place. The ideal temperature is between 12°C and 20°C. Warmer temperatures will cause the chocolate to melt. In addition,  warm temperatures may change the taste and texture.

How do I prepare a hot chocolate or chai latte?

Our Chai Lattes and Hot Chocolates are only suitable for drinking hot. The whole milk cocoa powder, mini marshmallows, caramel pieces and chocolate figures do not dissolve in cold milk. 

For the best possible taste, we recommend using milk or a milk alternative like soya or almond milk (not water!).

Can I prepare a cold drink using your hot chocolate or chai latte powder?

Yes, but you'll have to use the chocolate of chai powder a little differently.

The whole milk cocoa powder, mini marshmallows, caramel pieces and chocolate figures do not dissolve in cold milk. 

For instance, you can blend our chai latte powder in a smootie or milk shake using a blender.

How do I file a complaint?

Filed complaints shall be answered within 14 days following your order's receipt date. If a complaint requires a foreseeable longer processing time, we shall acknowledge receipt of your message within 14 days, indicating when you can expect a more elaborate answer. A member of our team will handle your complaint with the utmost care.
