Recipe // Marble Matcha Cake
Calling all matcha lovers! This recipe is for you. It's a stunning matcha marble cake that's easy to make and perfect for any occasion.
What you need
-
4 eggs
-
160 g sugar
-
250 g self-rising flour
-
160 g butter (room-temperature)
-
2 big scoops of Matcha Latte powder (aprox. 40gr)
How you make it
-
Preheat your oven to 175°C (350°F) and grease and flour a tube pan.
-
In a mixing bowl, cream together your room-temperature butter and sugar until light and fluffy. Add the egg yolks and continue beating until everything is well combined.
-
Separate the egg whites from the yolks. Set the whites aside for now, and sift the self-rising flour into a separate bowl.
-
Add the sifted flour to the creamy butter mixture and fold it in gently with a wooden spoon until just combined. Be careful not to overmix!
-
Divide the batter equally between two bowls. In one of the bowls, whisk in your matcha powder to your desired taste.
-
Grab your whisk and whip the egg whites until they form stiff peaks.
-
Fold the whipped egg whites into each batter (plain and matcha) separately. Do this gently, a spoonful at a time, until everything is just combined.
-
Here comes the fun part! Spoon dollops of both plain and matcha batter alternately into your greased tube pan. Use a chopstick or knife to gently swirl the batters together, creating a beautiful marbled effect.
-
Pop your cake into the preheated oven and bake for 1 hour, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
-
Enjoy! Once the cake is baked, take it out of the oven and let it cool completely on a wire rack before slicing in. And voila! A stunning matcha marble cake that's perfect for any occasion.
